What is found on the minds of most parents, when it comes to the home PC, is the safety of their young ones and the hope they will not be exposed to improper material while online,

 

Mom & Dad don't worry, you are not allow. Using software to help protect them is  a great and much needed resource, but there are other things you can do.

 

Below is a list of tips, definitions, and links to tips and information on what, (we as parents), should do to help in the safety of our children's online experiences.

2.	Spend time with your child online. Learn their online interests.
3.	Always keep the computer in well traveled areas in the home that everyone has access to.
4. The NEVER List: Teach your children to....   - never arrange to meet ANYONE they met online.   - never give their name, address, age, gender, school attended, cell number or      home number or any personal information to anyone online.   - never upload pictures of themselves to any website.   - never enter chat rooms where obscene, vulgar, threatening, harassing or     demeaning posts are entered.   - never argue under any circumstance online with another online user.

 

Also,

Contact your local law enforcement if your child is receiving threats online, being harassed, solicited for in person meetings, or sent a sexually explicit photo or being requested to send one to them.
